The Australasian Gannet

During incubation, both the female and male will take turns nesting on top of the egg.

Australasian Gannets are coloured beautifully. They have white plumage, yellow plumage on their heads, a grey bill with black definition and striking blue colouring around their eyes.

Australasian gannets once they have found a mate will often stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Mates perform dances for each other, which can include the bowing of necks. Furthermore, Australasian Gannets also perform a range of different behavioural dances, including territorial shaking of heads, as well as pointing towards the sky as an indicator of impeding takeoff.
